May is almost here, so it's time to announce our Staff Members of the Month!
These individuals keep a positive attitude and are always willing to lend a hand to help our staff and students. These staff members put students first, and we are so thankful for the impact they make each day on our campus and in our community.
We would like to congratulate Ms. Thorne and Ms. McConnell for being selected as our May Staff Members of the Month! We greatly appreciate the time and energy they give to our Pride. These teachers demonstrate our Core Commitments at Riverwalk Academy!
Ms. Thorne, 1st grade teacher, was nominated by a parent who said the following about her:
Mrs. Thorne truly cares and loves each one of her students and it shows in how eager my son is every day to go to school and see her. He used to hate getting up in the mornings, but now he hits the ground running, eager to get to learn from Mrs. Thorne!
Ms. Thorne was nominated for exhibiting the commitment of "We commit to our students by treating them with respect and fairness so we can fully invest in each child based on their individual needs."
Ms. McConnell, a high school health sciences teacher, was nominated by a colleague who said the following about her:
She is always helpful and provides wonderful insight during PD sessions and in her classes. She was able to successful get the yearbook done even though she faced many challenges. She is very caring and helpful to her colleagues and students.
Ms. McConnell was nominated for exhibiting the commitment of "We commit to each other by upholding a productive environment through collaboration, preparation, organization, accountability, and feedback."
