May is almost here, so it's time to announce our Staff Members of the Month!
These individuals keep a positive attitude and are always willing to lend a hand to help our staff and students. Each one of these staff members represents our Riverwalk PRIDE, and we are so thankful for the impact they are making on our community.
We would like to congratulate Ms. Hughes, Coach Wilson, and Ms. Pat for being selected as our May Staff Members of the Month! We greatly appreciate the time and energy they give to our Pride.
Ms. Hughes, 5th Grade Teacher
Hughes was nominated by a colleague and a parent who said:
"Ms. Hughes is an exceptional teacher. She works hard to make sure her lessons are valuable to her students. Her students are expected to participate in discussions and share their thinking. Her encouragement has created an atmosphere where students can be risk takers and thinkers. She is also a teacher who loves to learn herself and it shows daily within the classroom. "
"Mrs. Hughes has been a wonderful teacher for our daughter this year! She has worked so hard to help our daughter improve in her math skills. She is always so quick to respond to our questions and always so helpful"
Coach Wilson, High School Teacher and Coach
Wilson was nominated by a colleague and a parent who said:
"Mark is always seeking to go above and beyond for his peers and his students. He does each task with integrity and humility, setting an example of leadership for those around him."
"Coach Wilson always takes a little extra time to connect on a deeper level with the students he comes in contact with both in the classroom as well as in athletics. Having these relationships helps to forge better communication and allows students to have an adult to confide in. Coach Wilson has become an amazing role model for my child as well as many other students here at Riverwalk Academy. It takes a village and I sure am glad he is a part of ours."
Ms. Pat, Instructional Support
Ms. Pat was nominated by a colleague who said:
"She does so much. Always helping others when she’s available. She’s great at her job. I feel like she doesn’t get enough credit."
