(Rock Hill, SC) Riverwalk Academy, a K-12 public charter school in Rock Hill, announces the hiring of Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach, Morgan Burch.
Coach Burch, from Laurinburg, NC, joins the Riverwalk Academy Lions bringing extensive volleyball experience as a player. Coach Burch was a seven-year varsity player at Scotland High School, where she played both at the high school and club levels. Coach Burch had the opportunity to continue playing volleyball at the collegiate level; however, she turned down the offer to play to focus on her academic career. While at Wingate University, Coach Burch continued to play the sport she loved by playing all four years on various all-female and coed teams at the recreation level. Over the past ten years, Coach Burch has stayed current in the sport by playing on club teams throughout the Charlotte and Raleigh areas.
Coach Burch believes in the importance of teaching her players to value teamwork as much as they value their individual volleyball journey. “I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to help with the development of the Riverwalk players this season! There is nothing quite like helping others to grow a strong relationship with themselves and fellow peers while maintaining great sportsmanship. I look forward to passing along the motivation and support that I received during my days of playing this incredible sport. Go Lions, go!”
Coach Morgan is looking forward to growing the Lions volleyball program with the assistance of JV Head Coach, Coach Dwana Tillman, and Assistant Coach, Coach Crystal Greene.
Riverwalk Academy is proud to welcome Coach Morgan Burch to our staff and believes our shared commitment to excellence will promote continued achievement both on and off the court.
