November is almost here, so it's time to announce our Staff Members of the Month!
These individuals keep a positive attitude and are always willing to lend a hand to help our staff and students. These staff members put students first and we are so thankful for the impact they make each day on our campus and in our community.
We would like to congratulate Ms. M Wilson, Ms. Lahr, and Coach Dawson for being selected as our November Staff Members of the Month! We greatly appreciate the time and energy they give to our Pride. These teachers demonstrate our Core Commitments at Riverwalk Academy!
Ms. Wilson, Kindergarten Teacher
Wilson was nominated by a colleague and a parent who said:
"Mrs. Wilson has created a safe and positive environment for her students. She allows each child to be unique while still holding them accountable for their work and actions. She speaks in a positive tone in the classroom. She problem solves to meet the needs of her students, not her needs. Her students learn, grow and thrive in kindergarten!" and "My child loves her and she is the nicest teacher I have ever met and so sweet."
Ms. Wilson was nominated for exhibiting the commitment of "We commit to our students by treating them with respect and fairness so we can fully invest in each child based on their individual needs."
Ms. Lahr, 8th Grade Teacher
Lahr was nominated by a parent who said:
"Per my daughter..... Mrs. Lahr is incredibly nice & understanding. She has a great personality & teaches in a way that helps the kids understand. She cares about her job & all of the kids so much. She's generous & helpful. She doesn't get recognized enough. "

Coach Dawson, Computers & Business Teacher
Dawson was nominated by a colleague who said:
"Coach Dawson always comes in with a smile on his face and a pep in his step it doesn't matter what happened before he came in. He is always finding something positive and uplifting to say. When he is asked something about a student he always finds something nice to say about them. He comes in every day living the motto of "We are glad to be here". I enjoy working with Coach Dawson!"
