CTE

As the nation celebrates National Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month this February, we acknowledge the pivotal role CTE plays in shaping the future of our students and preparing them for success in the workforce. National CTE Month is an annual campaign that highlights the importance of career and technical education in schools across the country. CTE programs provide students with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience necessary to thrive in various industries, equipping them for both college and career pathways.

Career and Technical Education Month sheds light on the many benefits of CTE, emphasizing its role in bridging the gap between education and the demands of the evolving job market. Through a diverse range of programs, including technology, healthcare, agriculture, and more, CTE empowers students to explore their interests and passions while acquiring practical skills. The hands-on learning experiences offered by CTE programs not only enhance academic achievement but also foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork – essential attributes for success in the modern workforce and a critical part of Riverwalk Academy’s mission as a Project-Based Learning school. By promoting National CTE Month, we emphasize our commitment to equipping students with the tools they need to excel in their chosen careers and fostering a skilled and adaptable workforce that will drive innovation and prosperity in our communities.

At Riverwalk Academy, we’re proud to offer CTE programs in health science, computer science, and business/marketing pathways. We are also proud that our growing relationship with York Technical College has allowed our students to gain access to the many CTE programs they offer. To date, we have had students participate in the CTE areas of education, automotive, graphic arts, criminal justice, information technology, business management, and plumbing programs with plans for students to enter the welding and nursing programs in the near future.
