These individuals keep a positive attitude and are always willing to lend a hand to help our staff and students. These staff members put students first, and we are so thankful for the impact they make each day on our campus and in our community.
We would like to congratulate Ms. Secor, Ms. Kay, and Mr. Loyst for being selected as our April Staff Members of the Month! We greatly appreciate the time and energy they give to our Pride. These teachers demonstrate our Core Commitments at Riverwalk Academy!

Ms. Secor has been an amazing support for teachers this year, along with students! She consistently checks in with us, seeing if there's anything we need, and provides great support--whether it's resources, advice for working with students, and always a presence walking through our classroom. Ms. Secor is available at any time and has also developed authentic relationships with staff. You can tell that she truly cares!!!

Ms. Kay always holds students in positive regard. She works diligently to build relationships with her students and seeks to develop student's talents and interests. Even when faced with a student who may not prefer her class, she builds a bridge with them so that they can learn from the experience and use their creativity in a positive manner. She is also always willing to assist her team members with anything they need. She never hesitates to "carry the banner" of Riverwalk and the commitments we all share. We are very fortunate to have Ms. Kay as a part of our PRIDE.

Mr. Loyst, high school English teacher, was nominated by a colleague who said the following about him:
Mr. Loyst is an excellent communicator and collaborator. He has consistently maintained an open line of communication with his students, coworkers, and parents. He ensures that his TA is involved in all aspects of the learning environment, including but not limited to planning, teaching, and designing educational plans for current and upcoming students. He is an exceptional teacher with a dedication to his student's education and well-being, as shown by the senior spotlights this year. (Everyone loves ELA, apparently) He builds his class around the students and for that, they will always remember him. As the students honor him, so shall we!! 😁

A huge thank you goes to these amazing staff members; thank you for helping us demonstrate the #PowerOfOurPRIDE!
