At Riverwalk Academy, we are proud to honor and celebrate the exceptional members of our staff who go above and beyond in their dedication and service. These individuals have earned recognition not only from their colleagues but also from students and parents/guardians for their hard work and commitment.
They consistently bring a positive attitude and are always ready to lend their support to both staff and students. By putting students at the heart of everything they do, they create a lasting impact on our school and in our community. Their actions reflect a profound dedication to our school culture, and the respect they show to everyone around them is truly inspiring.
Join us in celebrating February's Staff Members of the Month: Ms. McConnell, Ms. Sturgill, and Ms. Flynn!
Ms. McConnell was nominated by several staff members who had this to say:
"Throughout her time here at Riverwalk, McConnell has remained dedicated to her students and the educational environment. She has been presented with overwhelmingly intense situations in the past couple of months and continues to give her time, patience, and understanding to those around her. While facing grief and odds, she is a living example of what a Riverwalk Academy Staff member is expected to be. Without her, much of the Academy would fail to be what we have all grown to know it as. We would lack a yearbook, health science, and swim. Riverwalk would not be the same without her."
"Ms. McConnell has always been a positive person both in and out of the classroom. She is always prepared, making sure things get done. One of the best teachers at enforcing the rules. She is flexible and teaches multiple content."
Ms. Sturgill was nominated by multiple parents who wrote this about her dedication to her classroom:
"Mrs. Sturgill has been nothing short of amazing for my kindergartener! My daughter looks forward to going to school every day because of her teachers. I appreciate Mrs. Sturgill’s positive attitude and commitment to her students both in and out of the classroom."
"Mrs. Sturgill is a phenomenal educator. She is extremely present for each and every one of her students inside and outside of their academics. She makes sure each student feels valued and supported. She does a wonderful job of including parents in their children’s education and keeping them involved. We could not have asked for a better kindergarten (and first year at Riverwalk) teacher for our son!"
Ms. Flynn was nominated by a parent that stated:
"Mrs. Flynn helps my children learn more effectively than they ever have. She communicates with me about my children about them academically as well as socially. My children look forward to her class every day!"
