Dear Riverwalk Academy Families,
We hope you're having a great spring semester so far! We are writing to inform you of an important update regarding our school’s car line.
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve our campus and provide a safer, smoother experience for everyone, Riverwalk Academy will be installing a new toll booth in the car line. This bold step is necessary to help cover the growing costs of pothole repairs and the continued maintenance of our school’s roads.
Over the past year, we’ve worked hard to address the wear and tear on our parking areas, but as many of you know, the pothole situation has become more “exciting” than we’d prefer. Thanks to ongoing construction and unpredictable weather, it's time we take a creative approach.
To ensure we can continue improving our infrastructure, the toll booth will serve as a vital funding source for these critical repairs.
Key Details:
Toll Fee: A small fee will be charged per vehicle using the car line (exact amount TBD—likely somewhere between a cup of coffee and an extra value meal at McDonalds).
Discounts for Larger Families: Families with more than one student enrolled at Riverwalk Academy will receive a “Carpool Hero” discount. This is calculated by using the following formula: $ = (N x R) / 0.9; where N = number of children, R = TBD rate.
Annual Passes: For frequent users of the car line, annual passes will be available at a discounted rate. These passes come with a custom Riverwalk RFID sticker and limited-edition bumper magnet.
Fast Passes: Want to skip the line? Fast Passes will allow for expedited entry through a special “Lion Lane” express gate.
Toll-Free Option: Prefer to save your quarters? You’re welcome to park in the church lot across the street and walk your child to school. (Bonus: great cardio!)
Effective Date:
The toll booth construction will begin on Monday, April 1, 2025, with an expected 30 day construction period.
We know this change may take some getting used to, and we appreciate your flexibility, humor, and support. As always, we are committed to maintaining a safe and smooth campus experience.
