Rock Hill, SC , October 25, 2022 – Dr. Andres Sanchez will be the newest member of the Riverwalk Academy Board. The members of the Riverwalk Board voted on Dr. Sanchez during the board meeting on October 18th.
Originally from Medellin, Colombia, he immigrated with his mother to Miami, FL at the age of 11. While his mother worked arduously cleaning homes and offices, he focused on his studies and engaged in multiple extracurricular activities. He ultimately graduated from high school fourth in his class of over one thousand, earning a place amongst the first class of President Machen’s Florida Opportunity Scholars at the University of Florida.
He then obtained a Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, went on to receive a Dean’s Fellowship to earn his medical degree at the University of Rochester, and finally completed internal medicine residency at Yale University.

Dr. Sanchez is married, plays the cajon (box drum), and enjoys spending time with his church family in Rock Hill, SC. Within the medical field, he enjoys keeping up to date with medical knowledge and technological advances, as well the practice of point-of-care ultrasound to diagnose and treat heart, lung, gastro-intestinal, and musculoskeletal conditions.
Dr. Sanchez is very excited to join and serve on the Riverwalk Academy Board.
