💙 WELCOME to the Pride 💙
Help us welcome Ms. Long's newest daughter, Harper-Kate to the Pride! We are so excited for this new addition to our Riverwalk family.
🍂 Mr. David Dawson, High School Teacher and Coach 🍂
"Riverwalk is more than just a school to me, it's a family. I love being able to be creative in my teaching methods. If not for Riverwalk, I may have left the teaching profession."

🍂 Ms. Carmelita Benderson, 6th Grade Teacher 🍂
"'Gratefulness is flowing from my heart' There is so much to be thankful for... I am extremely thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the Riverwalk Academy Family- Building Minds, Growing Futures. Here, I’m a part of a community that loves educating students, seeing them grow and overcome their fears; a community that develops teachers, that gives them the opportunity to be better at what they do. I am thankful for my students whose personalities add to my days and leave me smiling."

We officially finished our first month of art club meetings! The students have enjoyed creating their work on canvases with pencils, chalk and other drawing mediums. Our special guest this month was Mrs. Miller. She brought her years of experience to the students and helped guide them through their thought and artistic process.
With all levels of artistic talent, the students are producing up to 2 canvases a piece that will be highlighted in a Showcase at the end of the year!
Next month we will be exploring Painting and will have a new guest join us! We still have a few spots open if you are in 10th-12th and have an interest in joining us! Just contact Ms. Douglas at ddouglas@riverwalkacademy.com.

November is Native American Heritage Month!
Native American Heritage Month is observed in November to call attention to the culture, traditions, and achievements of the nation's original inhabitants and of their descendants. The official designation of November as National Native American Heritage Month was signed into law in 1990.
Happy Halloween from Riverwalk Academy! Pride, we hope you have a fun and safe night.
Today, we celebrated Red Ribbon Week by swapping bad choices for good choices (staff/students dress like each other). Here is Mr. Young and all of his Younglins'.
