Ellen Ochoa, born on May 10, 1958, is an accomplished American engineer, former astronaut, and former director of the Johnson Space Center. In 1993, Ochoa made history as the first Latina woman to venture into space during a memorable nine-day mission aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery. Following the retirement of the previous director, Michael Coats, on December 31, 2012, Ochoa assumed the role of director at the center. "Hello! My name is Brittainy Murray Rollins and I am elated to be teaching Introduction to Career Clusters as well as Digital & Interactive Media at Riverwalk Academy. This school year will be my third year teaching; however this will be my first year at Riverwalk. I have a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources. I have previous experience as a Vocational Counselor, Job Coach, and owner of an after school and summer care program.
I am married to an educator and we have 3 fantastic children that keep us busy. I enjoy watching my kids participate in their extracurricular activities- soccer, track, cheerleading, chorus, and band. I also enjoy traveling, listening to music, spending time with family and friends, and volunteering.
I am passionate about assisting the youth with exploring their interests in order to reach their short and long-term goals!"
